Position Objectives:
The Special Projects and Events Manager is an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for raising
$3 million annually in support of JBFC’s film, education, and artist programs. The Special Projects and Events Manager oversees the implementation of all annual fundraising campaigns and special events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the execution of all annual fundraising appeals, including year-end giving, education, planned giving, and special campaigns.
- Draft, prepare, and generate all components related to the fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, ebulletins, online giving, and invitations.
- Draft and send thank you letters to all fundraising appeal donors.
- Create and maintain the development department‘s master calendar.
- Oversee the special events budgets. Handle all event-related income and expenses. Prepare purchase orders and vendor payments. Maintain communication and relationships with event vendors.
- Create and send Feedback Emails to attendees of series/special film programs. Distribute the feedback internally and add relevant feedback/quotes to Development Department’s Impact folder.
- Provide lead support for all fundraising events, including the annual gala. Responsible for mailings, tracking RSVPs and contributions, correspondence, and event logistics.
- Oversee logistics for board/donor/cultivation events including receptions, dinners, and special film programs
- Provide logistical support for board meetings.
- Regularly update and maintain development-focused areas of the JBFC website, including Support the JBFC section.
- Engage with and interact with board members and donors at board and donor events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to plan, organize, and write the JBFC Annual Report.
Core Competencies and Skills:
- 2-3 years of fundraising and special events experience.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time with precision and accuracy.
- Excellent and engaging interpersonal skills with a high level of discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and to work independently with initiative.
- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management System. Experience with Tessitura a plus.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Start Date: ASAP
The Special Projects and Events Manager is an on-location position with some flexibility to work from home.
