CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.
Our editorial team is looking for writers to create fun, informative, and engaging Movies & TV Reviews that our discerning audience demands, with the eye-catching aesthetic they crave. The selected candidate will have tremendous career growth and internal development opportunities within the organization.

Qualifications
- Are you a verified Metacritic, Open Critic, or Rotten Tomatoes reviewer and/or do you have a Google Knowledge panel? Please list all below. Only candidates with at least one of these four profiles will be considered for the critic role
- A passion for comic books, writing reviews, and a drive to grow within the industry
- Broad working knowledge of Movies & TV, including:
- Disney, MCU, DCU, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon, Rings of Power, Breaking Bad, The Last of Us, The Walking Dead, Invincible, Sitcoms, animated series, Law & Order, NCIS CSI, Chicago P.D., and Grey’s Anatomy
- Up to date with new shows and movies
- The ability to analyze content and pull directly from the source material to back up claims
- A sharp eye for grammatical details
- Excellent command of the English language
- Ability to write high-quality articles with swift turn-around times
- Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment
- Should possess a general understanding of movie and TV culture and strong research skills
Responsibilities
- Keep up to date with new shows and movies, watching new episodes or films as soon as they release (or earlier) in order to have review ready for embargo/release
- Reviews will be assigned based on each writer’s expertise and CBR’s needs
- Fact-checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing
- Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
- Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team
