BPCM is looking for talented candidates to join our growing NY Beauty team as an Assistant Account Executive, Beauty Media. The ideal candidate will have solid internship experience within an agency or in-house Beauty department, but we will consider other candidates with relevant experience.
Responsibilities will be (but are not limited to):
Media Relations
- Manage core day-to-day media relations alongside the rest of the team
- Assist in securing print, online and broadcast placements for clients as directed by senior team members
- Start developing relationships with junior-level editors
- Participate in strategic brainstorming sessions with the internal client team
- Plan and actualize PR events alongside the team (Brand/Product Launches, Editor Meetings, Store Openings, Fashion Week etc.)
- Create and maintain beauty awards tracking grid and submissions
- Conduct research on relevant new outlets and industry trends
Mailings/Products
- Conduct/organize all editor mailings in conjunction with mailing house
- Track social media for posts and/or manage tracking platforms
- Assemble mailing recaps with key metrics and KPIs
- Help with influencer outreach and sendouts in office, as needed
Reporting
- Create/ update press credit analysis in conjunction with Cision
- Track and monitor secured press for your accounts and distribute to team in a timely manner
- Scan credits immediately and send to team and work with BPCM social media team to release to public
- Share determined press results in real-time
- Ensure press results are captured in weekly, monthly, yearly reports
- Responsible for online tracking/digital analysis for applicable clients
Writing/Interviews
- Help with press releases (writing/distribution)
- Help coordinate and review interviews for accuracy
- Assist in drafting interview responses as necessary
Admin support
- Update media and occasionally influencer list with contact moves and send on a monthly basis
- Weekly press coverage updates, where applicable (to be sent weekly on Fridays)
- UPS/Messengering products, ensure accuracy in coding and client billing as well as presentation
- Place product orders and help Beauty Logistics Manager as needed to manage storage closet
- Editor birthday gifts and list compilation
- Editor gifting
- Ordering supplies such as bags, tissue paper, folders, etc.
- Client and spokespeople travel needs
- Assist with scheduling external and internal calls
- Support team with additional scheduling or organizational needs
Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in an internship within an agency or in-house Beauty department, or in a related field such as general communications, marketing, or journalism
- A true interest in beauty and the beauty industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Problem-solving and solution-oriented with a proactive attitude
- Proficient computer skills i.e., Power Point, Excel and Word (to intermediate level)
- Basic knowledge of Muck Rack and openness to learn other industry tracking tools

The anticipated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $43,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
