Crowley Webb is looking for a full-time proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate is a stickler for details – someone who can spot a typo from a mile away. This person should also be a passionate practitioner of clear writing. As a member of the creative team, you’ll work with copywriters, designers, and account service folks to ensure the final product is error-free and of the highest caliber.

Responsibilities

Identify and correcting grammatical, typographical, stylistic, and compositional errors in both copy and layout
Proofread a variety of communications, including ads, blogs, websites, press releases, presentations, and new business proposals
Edit copy as needed to improve the overall product
Assist copywriters by proofreading creative copy prior to the layout stage
Create, maintain, and adhere to editorial style guides for client accounts to ensure a consistent presentation across all communications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or writing, or comparable work experience in a relevant field
Minimum of two years work experience in proofreading
Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style and The Associated Press Stylebook
Firm grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and a strong working vocabulary
Familiarity with pharmaceutical terms a plus, but not required
Knowledge of (or willingness to learn about) data protection (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) and maintaining confidentiality
Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Drive
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
Ability to prioritize workload and effectively manage timelines and deadlines
Hardworking team player who’s always ready for the next challenge

Salary range: $38,025 - $48,750 annually

Salary is always based on the unique set of skills, knowledge, and experience a candidate brings to the position.
