Crowley Webb is looking for a full-time proofreader to join our team. The ideal candidate is a stickler for details – someone who can spot a typo from a mile away. This person should also be a passionate practitioner of clear writing. As a member of the creative team, you’ll work with copywriters, designers, and account service folks to ensure the final product is error-free and of the highest caliber.

Responsibilities
- Identify and correcting grammatical, typographical, stylistic, and compositional errors in both copy and layout
- Proofread a variety of communications, including ads, blogs, websites, press releases, presentations, and new business proposals
- Edit copy as needed to improve the overall product
- Assist copywriters by proofreading creative copy prior to the layout stage
- Create, maintain, and adhere to editorial style guides for client accounts to ensure a consistent presentation across all communications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or writing, or comparable work experience in a relevant field
- Minimum of two years work experience in proofreading
- Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style and The Associated Press Stylebook
- Firm grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and a strong working vocabulary
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical terms a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of (or willingness to learn about) data protection (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR) and maintaining confidentiality
- Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Drive
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and effectively manage timelines and deadlines
- Hardworking team player who’s always ready for the next challenge
Salary range: $38,025 - $48,750 annually
