This is a Credit Analyst I position located in Tupelo, MS.
What The Role Is
We are seeking an analytical individual, able to work under direct supervision, to assist the credit department with reviewing applications and credit limit requests for consumer and commercial credit loans in accordance with established loan lending policies and procedures. Must be willing to relocate, if necessary.
How You will Make an Impact
Analyzes credit information pertaining to new and existing loans. Investigates all available sources of credit and financial information. Prepares credit analyses to determine customers credit worthiness and ability to repay debt. Maintains high levels of service to loan administration and loan officers. Ensure attention to detail in the preparation of all work.
Complete credit underwriting documents on varying levels of complexity, as needed. Provide guidance and credit training to all levels of Credit Analysts on a daily on-the-job training basis.
Who You Are
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field with minimum of 9 credit hours of accounting. Prior experience as a credit analyst in a financial institution, recommended but not required.
Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Must be a self-starter and excel in time management. Strong analytical thinking skills and attention to detail. Basic accounting skills / knowledge. Able to multitask and manage multiple concurrent deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledgeable of laws and regulations applicable to lending practices desired. Basic knowledge of different financial documents (tax returns, CPA prepared statements, government financials, non-profit financials, company prepared). Able to read and understand general loan policy and procedures as it pertains to the credit analyst role. Completes work efficiently and effectively to ensure the accuracy and timely turnaround of credit requests assigned. Communicate with lending staff and direct manager to address any credit-related issues and resolve disputes. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office. Experience with financial spreading software, recommended but not required.
