Job Title: Accounting AssociateJob Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to review historical transactions, reconcile supplier statements, and record financial transactions. The ideal candidate will assist in standardizing the procure-to-pay process and support purchase requisition reviews. This role involves working closely with the Finance Manager and other units to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Review historical transactions for proper documentation, approvals, and correct Workday categorization.
Prepare reclassification journal entries for Finance Manager approval.
Reconcile supplier statements against the vendor ledger in Workday to identify discrepancies and unrecorded liabilities.
Record financial transactions in QuickBooks, including invoices, bank transactions, and accruals related to month-end close.
Reconcile Fixed Asset Listing based on supplier invoices with the General Ledger (GL) and conduct spot checks to verify the existence of physical assets.
Assist in standardizing the procure-to-pay process and tailor communications internally and externally to promote compliance.
Support Purchase Requisition review and prepare budget amendments for failed Requisitions/Purchase Orders (RQ/PO).
Coordinate with requesting units to confirm supplier projects ended to close POs & RQs, releasing funds back to the budget.
Essential Skills
1-3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Experience using QuickBooks.
Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Great Excel skills (assessment will be given before sending).
Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
A 'go-getter' personality, eager to step in and hit the ground running.
Experience in Finance, Accounting, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
Work Environment
This is an in-office position.
