LinkedIn is looking for an Associate Editor to support the growth of our LinkedIn List franchises. In this role, the editor will work with editors around the world, as well as cross-functional teams, to produce data-driven rankings that help professionals navigate their careers. This requires strong project management and communications skills to operate these projects across teams and time zones, as well as basic data fluency and good editorial judgment.
The ideal candidate is a self starter and quick learner with experience reporting and working in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should feel comfortable with analyzing data and have strong attention to detail.
You’ll be joining a global team of journalists who help cultivate, curate and create the content that flows through LinkedIn. You’ll work closely with editors across time zones and cultures to drive complex projects forward, ultimately helping members around the world pinpoint new opportunities to grow their careers.
Responsibilities
• Establish materials that help streamline project processes and keep projects highly organized for broader teams.
• Support projects from beginning data pulls through final reporting of results.
• Clearly communicate project steps across teams and ability to tackle problems as they arise.
• Work with big data sets to adjust data and identify issues, partnering with in-house data scientists to fix.
• Understand benchmark success metrics to evaluate project performance.
• Report, write and edit the lists themselves, as well as related features.
• Work cross-functionally to understand competing needs and find solutions, from data to editorial peers to PR.
• Build distribution tactics by having an understanding of content distribution.
• Identify emerging opportunities and experiment with new ways to share and tell stories that fit LinkedIn’s professional audience.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or Creative Writing
• 1+ year of experience writing and editing
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience writing and editing
• Experience working in a news or media environment
• Project Management Experience
• Passionate about organization and deadline-driven
• Comfortable with data
• Willingness to pitch in where needed to achieve the goals of a small team
• Passion for LinkedIn and editorial’s goal of bringing professionals the news and insights they need.
• Excited to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• A strategic approach with a knack for testing and iterating to find out what works

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $77,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
