Description
A Pipefitter will assemble, layout, install and maintain pipe systems. The pipe systems may include but not limited to: pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Pipefitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site including in buildings, outside, and inside structures. The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights.
DUTIES:

Read and interpret blueprints

Apply mathematics to solve problems

Fabricating and installing gaskets
-
Performing cutting/threading operations using a machine

Using measuring tools and portable power tools
-
Make decisions based on measurable criteria
-
Testing pipe and tube installations
-
Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
-
Installing pipe systems and components
-
Interpreting detailed pipe sketches and blueprint
-
Installing valves and components
-
Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation

Fabricating and install pipe fit
-
Identifying, fabricate and installing pipe hangers and supports

Rigging material and equipment
-
Fabricating pipe systems
-
Perform clean up duties
-
Perform other duties as required
