Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Turbine Outside Machinists for projects located in and around the Newport News, VA area. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate up to $27.31/hour based on experience plus $120/day per diem for Travelers of 60+ miles from the job site . Job Scope:

Installation of hull inserts
-
Use of lapping & blue checking tools
-
Operate lathe
-
Valve overhaul, steam, & vog AC refrigeration repair
-
Installation of lift check valve
-
Steam plant cleaning
-
Installation of main engine propulsion plant machinery & equipment
-
Installation of anchor windlass, mast, & antenna
-
Lube oil flushing
-
Installation of ballast tanks, refueler, drilling/taping, etc.
-
Test boiler operations
-
Installation of valve & pump packing
-
Installation of deck ordinance
-
Shafting & bearing work
-
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
-
20+ Years of Turbine Generator Experience
-
Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry
-
Familiarity with Fasteners
-
Ability to comprehend complex drawings, blueprints, diagrams, & sketches
