About The Role: This role is for an Analyst in a communications world – straddling the intersection between numbers and messages. This is a brand-new position within the agency where you will be pioneering the analytics practice. Daily, you will utilize tools and strategies to translate raw data into valuable business insights and optimization suggestions. Working closely with the PR teams in order to implement data-driven recommendations generated through proprietary in-house learnings at scale and across multiple clients. As an Analyst you will act as the day-to-day leader of analytics for their respective accounts, getting involved at the inception of new ideas as well as new business opportunities. You will work with creative and planning and help execute strategies that will propel the company forward while having the opportunity to develop methods that are new to the industry. You will lead client-specific projects from data restricting and manipulation to visual creation and finally to fruition as you analyze the results in order to identify key insights and recommendations that will guide strategic decisions and uncover real-time optimization opportunities that impact the bottom line. The candidate must be data agnostic, willing to leverage information from a bevy of sources to best analyze the problem and forge a solution. This person will build, develop and maintain data structures, reporting systems and build customized dashboards based on KPIs that will support key business decisions and shape future programming recommendations. The analytics team works in lockstep with the digital team at Zeno Group and will interact with every facet of the organization and, at times, clients as well. If you have an affinity for a wide gamut of data and are yearning to augment your knowledge, this role will allow you access to some of the most diverse data sets and tools around. Meaning this person must be willing to optimize existing processes, create best practices, work cross-functionally, ensure data validation, as well as build data visualizations from the ground up. Responsibilities - Collaborate with account teams and internal analytics leads to deliver reports on time, ensuring alignment with client timelines. Take ownership of projects, managing timelines and resources, while balancing personal workload and alerting managers to potential bandwidth issues. - Demonstrate strong understanding of data quality assurance, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, discrepancies and incorrect data along with proactively troubleshooting issues as they arise. - Perform data QA on large datasets, merging and aggregating data from various sources to create cross-channel data sets. - Utilize intermediate Excel (formulas, V-lookups, pivot tables)skills to analyze and interpret data, with beginner to intermediate knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBi, Looker Studio) for report building. - Conduct market research for new business opportunities, providing insights, recommendations, and responding to ad hoc requests. - Understand and apply various media tracking tools (e.g., Cision, MuckRack, Brandwatch) and master creating Boolean searches to extract data. - Leverage research and data insights to develop campaign recommendations and tie data results back to broader business objectives and strategy. Qualifications - 3-5 years of experience in a client-facing analytics/consultant role. - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business analysis, data management / reporting, statistics, economics, or other related areas. - Excellent time management skills and are highly organized. - Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau a must. - Experience with digital tools, including but not limited to: Google Analytics, Demographics Pro, Crimson Hexagon, NewsWhip, Meltwater, TrendKite, MuckRack, Similar Web, etc. - Experience with paid media, measurement, media planning and media mix modeling ideal. - Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards used to inform business decisions. - Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office applications with specific experience in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, advanced functions, formulas, filtering, etc.) - Strong grasp of paid offerings on major social networks, including ad units, objectives, targeting and campaign best practices. - Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities. - Understand marketing and the various metrics that come with them, with a particular focus on digital metrics.
