STV is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer for the Transportation Group in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bellevue, Portland.
The ideal candidate is an individual who is a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and possesses a vast understanding of roadway design principles.
The candidate will apply roadway engineering principles to provide design for road and bridge projects and will work with junior staff members and other disciplines for successful project production and execution. This is an excellent role for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional that enjoys being a part of a team environment and would be a great opportunity for a design engineer to grow technical skills while also leading a multidisciplinary design team. Prior experience leading design efforts would be a plus, but this could also be a next step for someone who has been major design support and is ready to take on the additional responsibility of leading the engineering.
Provide professional design services for transportation improvement projects for municipal agencies.
Design roadway geometry and details, drainage, traffic control, pavement markings, and signing for transportation infrastructure.
Experience with bus rapid transit (BRT) is a plus
Interact with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams
Design using MicroStation, experience in Open Roads (ORD) is a plus
Coordinate design development and assisting with technical direction to other design staff
Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
Establish working relationships and interface with client technical staff and project managers
Mentor supporting Civil design staff
Responsibilities include:
A minimum of 8 years of experience in all technical aspects of roadway design including highway, reduced conflict intersections, roundabouts, intersections, widenings, and bike/ped design.
Experience with using Civil3D, MicroStation and Geopak are required and familiarity with Open Roads Designer is a plus
Familiarity with the latest edition of AASHTO Green Book and MUTCD
Strong inter-personal skills for client and other engineering discipline interaction
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a master's degree in Civil Engineering
PE license is required
Compensation Range:
$114,960.00 - $153,281.00
