What It's Like
Our dynamic team of project management professionals, lead the design and construction of functional and innovative work environments for T-Mobile's office and call center portfolios. As part of a full service Corporate Real Estate team, we manage all aspects of project scope, schedule, and budget, on a variety for project types and sizes; from small $10K branding projects, to $30M+ projects to design and build new offices or call centers. We are now expanding our focus by beginning to execute a sustainability strategy across our body of work, to hit science-based targets in support of T-Mobile's enterprise sustainability goals. This new focus will change how we design and build on behalf of T-Mobile.
What You'll Do
As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will actively participate in, and assist with, the management of one or more large construction projects, with a focus on implementing new processes and best practices in the area of construction sustainability. These processes (and tools) will focus on piloting embodied carbon accounting in design and construction for T-Mobile, along with piloting new construction waste tracking and reporting, and also partnering with our Workplace Design team on new design guidelines for sustainable construction.
Key Responsibilities
Assist one or more full-time Project Managers with carbon accounting, budget management, closeout, meetings and status updates, or other duties, in support of larger Corporate Real Estate capital projects.
Help to create and pilot new tools and methods for embodied carbon accounting, energy use reduction, and waste reduction for capital construction projects.
Become immersed in the design and construction process, to better learn how projects move from concept to reality, to better support on-going operations.
What It Takes
Currently pursuing a degree in Design, Construction, Project Management, or Real Estate.
Being an eager learner, interested in design, construction, or project management as a full-time career.
Being a problem-solver, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Having an interest in sustainability - specifically as it applies to the built environment - and new methods of design and construction to help an organization such as T-Mobile realize aggressive sustainability goals.
Ability to use suite of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) required; Ability to use MS Project and/or Procore are desired, but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must have graduated within the last 12-months, OR be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program
Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships
Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.
Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
