Optavise, a CNO Financial Group Company is seeking a Director, Development responsible for the development of multiple platforms and applications for Optavise. This role will be designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining a vast array of solutions that meet the ever-changing requirements of the Optavise business as well its customers. This role directs and manages a team of Developers, Project Managers, Engineers, etc. and is responsible for the development and implementation of technology, in line with Optavise’s strategic goals.
As a Director, Development, your responsibilities will include:

Analyze the technology we currently use for design, development and administration for efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate with project managers and leaders to measure system and resource use and allocation.

Developing or upgrading technology in a company that assists it in the pursuance of its goals.

Work closely with Delivery, Marketing, and Product to define and deliver new products and enhancements.
-
Working closely with the research and development and marketing teams to invent new products or services or enhancements to old ones.
-
Ensuring quality control by establishing technical standards which must be adhered to.
-
Advising Optavise leadership about timely investments in appropriate new technology.
-
Internally, explaining the outcomes of implementing new technology to the Optavise leadership, associates and suppliers.

Externally, advising clients how the implementation of new technology will enhance their business.

Work with internal and external customers to understand what improvements they require in the product or service.

Fostering an efficient research and development team.

Keeping abreast of and anticipating developments in the relevant technological field.

Prepare cost-benefit analyses for every change in our IT workflow.

Suggest hardware and software upgrades as appropriate to improve operations, consistency, and budgetary success.

Overall management of Optavise software product offerings (definition of requirements, design, coding, and maintenance).
The Director, Development position is well-suited for you if you:

Define, organize, translate and simplify requirements.

Demonstrate skills in logical modeling with the ability to output theory into flow charts.

Interpret complex instructions and requirement.

Apply both training and extensive personal experience to identify the root cause of complex technical challenges and formulate simple, efficient, and manageable techniques and processes to address the same.

Juggle demanding, variable schedules.

Apply learning through reasoning and analysis.

Mentor and manage teams using effective delegation skills.

Communicate effectively in written and verbal communication.

Must be a self-driven, motivated senior IT / IS leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and good customer and executive presence.

Have a track record in developing scalable, reliable, and secure high-traffic, mission-critical systems with ability to go deep and broad on technology.

Be metrics driven and passionate about rapid experimentation and improvement.

Deep knowledge & experience in the development and management of Healthcare Administration platforms preferred.
What you’ll need:

Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of equivalent experience
-
7 - 10 years of experience in working with solution architecture, software development process and benefits administration, including at least five years of previous management experience managing a team of application product developers/implementers or similar.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.
All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
