Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, New York, NY. In-person Monday through Friday, 10AM – 6PM with the possibility of additional hours during peak periods.
Michael Rosenfeld Gallery is seeking a highly skilled Digital Imaging Specialist who will report to the gallery’s in-house Photographer. The ideal candidate must have an expert understanding of the post-production process for fine art photography and possess excellent digital asset management skills. This position is responsible for image retouching and file management for all images taken by the gallery photographer using established gallery standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all photography post-production; retouch and color correct images; archive files on server
- Maintain color accuracy for images across multiple platforms
- Prioritize image needs and requests ensuring that work is completed in a timely manner
- Maintain image file management within current filing system, ensure that all files are correctly named and consistent throughout various platforms
- Update gallery database with new photography and photo notes
- Provide general administrative support to in-house photographer
Qualifications:
- A degree in photography or a related field is required
- Minimum of 3 years digital imaging experience working in a gallery or museum setting
- Ability to neutralize mixed lighting situations
- Familiar with using batch automation to process images into multiple formats
- Thorough understanding of color management standards and color spaces
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with expertise in Photoshop and Lightroom
- Highly skilled in multiple file formats including jpeg, tiff, and raw
- Extremely detailed oriented and systematic
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Comfortable working in a group dynamic as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
