The Team
The Americas Public Finance Housing team covers a portfolio of about 600 ratings associated with housing finance agencies, public housing authorities, and community development finance institutions, along with analysis of capital fund financings and federally enhanced housing issues across the country. As the Associate Director, you will participate in the management of a complex portfolio of credits and in market research and thought leadership efforts. A lot of the work is completed independently, and every rating involves a team of analysts. You will gain and demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge in the national housing market in this role. Responsibilities and Impact :
As the Associate Director, you will analyze a portfolio of housing entities including their respective business and financial profiles. This includes analyzing complex bond securities, economic indicators, management, and governance, historical and projected financial information as well as difficult deal-specific analytical situations. This position is responsible for meeting with issuers, bankers, and investors on analytical topics, assisting in resolving client needs, contributing to media requirements in conjunction with other senior members of the organization, and taking the lead at external meetings related to credits. Specifically, in this role, the analyst will:
Act as the primary analyst for housing credits ranging in size and complexity, including preparing analyses for internal presentations to senior analysts during rating committees, as well as preparing reports for external publication.
Act as an active member of rating committees.
Function as a sector resource on credits. Publish timely industry commentaries, and proficiently write sector reviews and thought leadership pieces.
Ensure a risk aware culture including leading by example.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $103,800 to $206,350. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
4+ years of experience related to Public Finance, with Public Finance Housing sector experience highly preferred.
The candidate should have the aptitude to be a team player, but also be able to work independently.
The candidate must have: strong verbal communication and writing skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent time management and ability to stay organized and meet deadlines; the ability to think independently and critically; the ability to mentor others; and a risk mindset.
