Research Associate
Questroyal Fine Art, a leading American art gallery, is seeking a Research Associate to begin immediately.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 9:30am–6:00pm (and one Saturday a month, 9:45am–5:15pm)
Work environment:

- Spacious gallery with dedicated workstations and extensive research library
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provenance: researching previous ownership, exhibition history, literature references, related works
- General research: inquiries/client requests, artist biographies, catalogue raisonné verification and submissions
- Cataloging: catalog new purchases including precise measuring and title/date/inscription verification
- Administrative: create invoices, track delivery information, assist with phones
- Publications: manage the production of monthly catalogues
- Clients: painting inquiries, occasionally assist with visitors
- In-house library: suggest new book additions, maintain database, organize inventory
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in art history or related field, preferred
- Previous gallery, auction house, or museum experience, preferred
- Excellent writing and copyediting skills
- Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, efficient, and able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; basic knowledge of FileMaker Pro
- Photoshop and photography skills, a plus
- Must be willing to work a minimum of one Saturday per month
- Excellent references
