The Material Handler supports the physical flow of materials throughout the plant. Duties could include shipping to customers, receiving from suppliers and replenishment of inventory in manufacturing cells per established processes. Duties are performed per department policies, procedures and Lean Business System tools. Must strive to meet the expectations of internal customers, and continuously improve performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost as indicated by our KPI's.
Key Responsibilities:
Constantly maintain a high level of safety awareness.
Properly stock cells for daily production.
Maintain stock areas per Kanban processes.
Insure proper Kanban card status in stock areas and on Kanban board.
Prepare, package and label company products and parts for shipment.
Process incoming materials and deliver to appropriate departments.
Verify correctness of products, documentation and transactions.
Inform leader regarding discrepancies or problems.
Use computers or related hardware (scanners, printers, etc.) as required for inquiry, data input, production of labels, communication, etc.
Route paperwork and documents to proper departments, maintain necessary records and files.
Communicate with other departments regarding material needs, schedules, availability and other details.
Maintain assigned areas to 5S standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Relationships:

Reports to Warehouse Supervisor.

Internal Relationships exist with all functional departments (i.e. Quality, HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Engineers, LBS Manager, Planners, Buyers, Master Scheduler, Maintenance, Customer Service and General management

External relationship may include suppliers/vendors, Customers, and Auditors
Background and Skills:
High school graduate or GED
Two plus years previous experience in shipping, receiving, stockroom, warehousing, or similar.
Good basic math skills.
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds over 10 times per day or lift over 50 pounds, 3-10 times per day
High degree of attention to detail
Strong sense of urgency
Stress tolerant in a fast paced, result orientated manufacturing environment
