Development Manager: Special Events & Cultivation
Chashama is a non-profit organization that supports artists by partnering with property owners to transform unused real estate into space for artists to create, present, and connect with the mission to increase equity and bolster diversity in the arts.

Responsibilities:
Donor Stewardship
- Facilitate relationships with future individual donors and corporate sponsors.
- Oversee design, strategy, and execution of fundraising appeals.
- Identify new opportunities for partnerships and revenue generation.
- Oversee data collection, research, and the generation of lookbooks.
- Ensure all information is properly recorded in Salesforce.
Special Events
- Direct all aspects of fundraising and production for the annual Chashama Gala & Art Party:
- Identify and support the procurement of honorees, co-chairs, benefit committee members, and other stakeholders to maximize fundraising capacity for each event.
- Build relationships with event leadership, venues, sponsors, and other partners.
- Oversee the design and execution of corporate sponsor solicitations/pre-sale mailings.
- Oversee logistics, timelines, and staffing for 7 – 10 small-scale donor cultivation events annually.
- Serve as signatory on contracts with venues, vendors, and event partners; ensure all agreements are carried out effectively.
Staff Management & Administration
- Supervise the Special Events & Cultivation Coordinator.
- Write job descriptions, hire, and train interns and temporary staff as needed.
- Collaborate with accounting department on financial reconciliation and audit preparations.
Qualifications
- Salesforce and Filemaker Pro proficiency required.
- A strong interest in NYC’s cultural landscape and a passion for the arts.
- Familiarity with non-profits, galleries, performance venues and arts administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of initiative, and highly organized.
- Fluency in MS Office, Google Applications and Windows OS.
- Familiarity with Adobe Design Suite preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
