Thames & Hudson, Inc. is currently seeking a Marketing and Catalog Associate to support our marketing and sales efforts in promoting T&H titles in the U.S. and Canada. Reporting to the Sales Director and collaborating with the Marketing Manager (Metadata & Merchandising), the Marketing and Catalog Associate will provide administrative support and assist with the creation of the seasonal sales catalog, marketing materials, and advertising campaigns for a wide variety of illustrated nonfiction, including art, architecture, design, photography, history, and more. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and looking to begin or further a career in publishing.
The position will be a full-time position working hybrid/remote part-time in the T&H offices and part-time outside the office. Thames & Hudson offices are located in New York City in mid-town Manhattan.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the production of three seasonal sales catalogs a year. Includes developing schedule, writing catalog copy, interacting with copyeditor, proofreader, designers, and colleagues in sister teams in Thames & Hudson London and Australia.
- Assist with sales materials support, including coordinating with external stakeholders to collect assets for digital sales catalogs and create promotional materials, and preparing seasonal sales metadata (key selling points, marketing points, sales comps, etc.)
- Assists members of the marketing team with various aspects of title marketing campaigns and content development.
- Coordinate with ad agency, designers, and the marketing team to produce print and digital ad assets in a range of trade and consumer publications/platforms.
- Generate and post social media content on various platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Entering and maintaining metadata for T&H trade titles.
- Collaborate with marketing colleagues to create and distribute T&H’s bi-monthly trade newsletter
- Maintaining Museum Exhibition Schedule related to T&H titles
- Meeting with authors to discuss and coordinate marketing efforts
- Interacting with T&H’s distributor W.W. Norton as well as colleagues in T&H’s offices in London and Australia
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience with a background or interest in illustrated nonfiction and publishing
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention-to-detail and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as with a team
- Comfort collaborating with various departments and communicating with colleagues overseas
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Photoshop and InDesign a plus
- Knowledge and experience working in various social media platforms a plus
