As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and driven Development Manager to enhance our fundraising efforts in the U.S. and support the long-term sustainability of our organization.
Position Summary:
The Development Manager will be responsible for driving the fundraising efforts necessary to support our mission in close collaboration with La Nueva Fábrica’s Executive Director. This role will be pivotal in ensuring La Nueva Fábrica’s long-term sustainability by expanding our donor base, particularly within the U.S., and securing diverse sources of funding to support our unique programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit fundraising, with a particular focus on arts and international organizations, and be passionate about contemporary art and/or Latin American culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fundraising Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s annual budget and long-term growth goals.
- Grant Writing & Research: Identify, research, and apply for grants from foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources, with a particular focus on U.S.-based opportunities.
- Donor Engagement: Cultivate and develop long-term relationships with existing individual and prospective donors, ensuring personalized communication and stewardship plans that align with the organization’s strategic growth.
- Campaigns & Events: Collaborate with the programming team to create and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and artist-led initiatives that engage both U.S. and Guatemalan audiences.
- Cross-Border Fundraising: Develop strategies that tap into funding opportunities specific to the arts in both Guatemala and the U.S., taking into account the cultural, philanthropic, and regulatory differences between the two countries.
- Digital Fundraising: Leverage digital platforms to create engaging online fundraising campaigns and increase the visibility of La Nueva Fábrica’s work in the U.S. and beyond.
- Board Support: Work closely with the Board of Directors to leverage their networks and support their fundraising efforts.
- Reporting & Database Management: Maintain accurate donor records, track contributions, and generate reports on fundraising progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or arts administration.
- 3-5 years of experience in development, with a proven track record of securing gifts, sponsorships, and grants (experience with international fundraising is a plus).
- Strong grant writing and reporting skills, with solid knowledge of U.S. funding landscapes.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of donors and stakeholders.
- Diplomatic, collaborative, and solutions-driven.
- Familiarity with contemporary art and the ability to articulate the importance of cultural exchange.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and/or ability to train/learn quickly. Database experience strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred to facilitate cross-border communication and outreach.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time and workflows effectively.
