Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, MCR Investors. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Director of Revenue Management to lead the revenue strategy for two full-service hotels in New York City, focusing on maximizing revenue across all segments including FIT/Wholesale, Group, Contract, and Transient.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Marriott systems such as One Yield v2, HPP, GPO, and CI/TY, along with a deep understanding of the competitive NYC market. The primary responsibility for this position is to analyze revenue maximization efforts across all revenue streams, maintaining Revenue Management standards, and reviewing hotel performance against established goals.
The Area Director will collaborate with property-level and corporate teams to drive measurable improvements in demand and availability. The role includes monitoring group, FIT/wholesale, contract, and transient business thresholds, developing property-specific strategies for growth, and conducting in-depth analysis of market trends, citywide and special events, demand, and pricing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drive revenue and market share for each property in the assigned portfolio by:
Leading weekly revenue management calls to assist with strategy and forecast.
Reviewing data, reports, market conditions and trends and evaluating / suggesting revenue management strategies, ensuring follow through as necessary
Analyzing / forecasting demand and ensuring effective selling strategies, oversell strategies and optimized market mix and use of distribution channels for overall hotel profitability
Monitoring all distribution channels to ensure effective rates and inventory management and pricing strategies are in place.
Top line forecasts for each hotel and within +/-3% of actuals
Business evaluation of group, FIT/Wholesale and contract identifying the right revenue decisions when accepting business.
Review and implementation of revenue strategy and processes, policies, and procedures at the hotel level.
Maximize profitability throughout the organization by:
Evaluating business with F&B revenue included
Identifying demand generators for each market and production from these accounts or attractions
Keeping a pulse on national and local economic trends to determine impact on hotel revenues.
Understanding local and national negotiated accounts and other corporate opportunities market-wide and ensuring each hotel is appropriately aware of opportunities and positioned to achieve (work with RDOS team)
Understanding and projecting market trends and position relative to competitors, ensuring all hotels in the impacted area are properly positioned.
Participate in forecasting, budgeting (top line)
Understand and identify brand pricing, promotional, marketing and eCommerce initiatives and recommendations that should be implemented not only for compliance but to maximize revenues.
Coordinate with hotel management teams to drive results through effective training, coaching, leading, motivating, empowering, and following through with all revenue management strategies with the hotel team members.
Perform numerical analysis of data and formulate conclusions and solutions, relaying to constituents in a logical, well-organized manner.
Work collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to peers, hotel teams, and analysts
Participate in ownership meetings as needed.
Liaison between MCR and ownership representatives for the New York hotels.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a Revenue Management role.
Strong knowledge of the NYC hotel market and strategies for FIT/Wholesale, Group, Contract, and Transient business segments.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in Marriott systems, including One Yield v2, GPO, CI/TY, and other relevant hotel revenue management tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
Certified as a Revenue Manager through an appropriate Revenue Management Training program for one or both of the following brands: Hilton/Marriott.
Other Requirements:
Ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and provide mentorship.
Based on site in New York City.
College preferred and/or equivalent of work experience in hospitality industry.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $210,000 annually.
