Job Description
The Production Assistant is a member of the NBC News Marketing team. This person is responsible for supporting creative development and production.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the production and post-production of advertising, promotion and marketing materials for all shows and brands related to NBC News
- Support the writers, producers and editors in the creative process
- Participate with Brand, Media, and Creative teams to facilitate campaign development and ensure successful delivery
- Contribute in department strategy/creative meetings to help develop ideal solutions
- Research, screen and log news programs and shoot materials
- Oversee dubbing and duplicating of video and digital material
- Organize, maintain and update electronic files
- Assist in the analysis of campaign performance
- Help train production interns and delegate tasks in support of creative team
- Track budgets and production schedules in conjunction with project management team
- Handle administrative responsibilities, scheduling travel, reconciliation of travel reports, calendar updates, and filing, among other responsibilities
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working in a marketing and/or production environment
- A Bachelors degree, preferably in Communications, Broadcasting or Marketing
- At least 2 years of experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 news environment in addition to standard hours (10:00am-6:00pm)
- Willingness to work overtime with short notice.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
Desired Characteristics
- Experience with new media and digital media platforms
- Thorough understanding of the current broadcast and digital media landscape
- Proven ability to manage in a deadline-oriented environment and to multitask
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with iNews and Ardome a plus
- Editing experience a plus

- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
