Role Title: Social Media Editor, Man City US

Purpose:
The Social Media Editor for City Studios NYC will play a key role in the daily ideation, planning, and publishing of content for Manchester City’s U.S. audience.
Based in New York City, the person will be a skilled copywriter, full of actionable ideas that excite and engage our existing fanbase and new audiences, with a finger to the pulse on the U.S. culture, sports and entertainment x social space.
As well as being part of the team publishing content, this role will also be required to capture U.S. social content locally for collaborations, events, and watch parties as required.
Role specific accountabilities:
1: Social Publishing
Responsible for enacting an always-on Man City U.S. social strategy that taps into trends across the North American social landscape and amplifies the club to both existing and new fans. Exercise excellent judgement required, as well as social copywriting flair.
2: Driving fan growth
Maintain the social content calendar that will deliver audience growth and drive content KPIs, including active users and engagement from existing and new fans. Leverage social media analytics to generate more impactful social campaigns and content.
3: New audiences
Develop a network of contacts to help supercharge Man City’s growth in the U.S.. This might include creators, influencers, rightsholders, broadcasters and fans from the world of football and beyond.
4: Relationships
Brainstorm, ideate and build consensus amongst colleagues. Build strong relationships with the City Studios NYC and City Studios UK editorial teams, driving knowledge sharing, learnings that will benefit the wider Manchester City brand.
5: Wider Business Support
Work with the wider marketing team to ensure that editorial content in the U.S is working seamlessly with our wider marketing strategies.
Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:
- A passion for social content, a desire to innovate and experiment and great instincts for what will work with audiences on U.S. social platforms
- A strong knowledge of the U.S. social landscape and familiarity with the tactics and tonality of U.S. sports social
- Community management knowledge and experience
- Experience identifying and working with external creators and influencers to create relevant, shareable content that resonates with new audiences outside of football
- Experience concepting, pitching, and editing content from start to finish, with strong creative storytelling skills and a high level of attention to detail on publishing
- Expert knowledge of international soccer and the culture around the game in North America.
- Passion for social performance and demonstrable track record of growing an audience in a social admin role for a professional brand or organization
- Social video shoot and edit skills, with experience of capturing video (handheld or cam) and ability to edit, optimizing longer form video into social-first content that will resonate in the U.S.

COMPENSATION:
This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $65,000-$70,000. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
