Team Overview

A newly launched initiative called GAF Roads, aims to disrupt the road maintenance market with a cutting-edge solution that improves the life cycle and performance of asphalt pavement. This is a dynamic, fast-paced growth initiative looking for candidates that espouse a curious, proactive, and adaptable mindset.
Summary
The Product/Marketing Manager will play a key role in understanding, defining, and communicating our customer needs and requirements across all audiences including (but not limited to) road engineers, government policy makers, and installers. This position will oversee all commercialization aspects of our products and programs, including optimizing the product through analysis of and improvements upon positioning, price, marketing collateral, technical data, marketing campaigns, and context within the competitive market. Notably, over the next year, this role will help commercially launch several offerings as well as our (re)brand. This role demands a deep understanding of how to build and refine customer personas, a knack for simplifying complexities into concise communications, maintaining a high attention to detail while managing multiple work streams with inter-dependencies, and the ability to work closely with both customers and internal stakeholders.
Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Customer Requirements – Translate market and sales needs into business objectives and delivery requirements for internal stakeholders. Put our customer first.
● Marketing Management – Lead the development, coordination, and execution of our strategic marketing agenda:
○ Apply creativity and style to chart our course to being leaders in the market through promotions, literature and samples, advertising, and merchandising.
○ Work with the Design and Marketing Services teams to develop, package, and promote marketing collateral to support products.
○ Execute new product launches by working with all teams to develop plans and be responsible for execution.
○ Help lead efforts and coordination for trade shows and installer events.
● Business Support & Continuous Improvement – Identify opportunities to develop new offerings, processes, and strategies for meeting our customers where they are–help us turn insight into competitive advantages.
○ Screen new product and program ideas with market research, analysis and evaluations.
○ Work closely with R&D, Operations, and other functions for development, testing, and production of new and existing solutions.
○ Develop and support customer/installer programs aligned with product development efforts.
● Work cross-functionally on a variety of teams that may include Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, IT Finance, and more.
● Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 20-25% of the time; travel with sales personnel and attend conferences and meetings with customers to provide expert product knowledge and understand market needs.

● Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Marketing, Business Management, or relevant technical field
● 5+ years of experience in product management and/or a similar marketing field
● Self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
● Demonstrated project management skills and ability to effectively manage a large workload across multiple projects without loss of fidelity
● Advanced analytical skills to understand and interrogate customer requirements thoroughly
● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to effectively communicate/coordinate plans with other departments, customers, and partners
● Strong financial acumen
