Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in New York, NY. This role is based in the education sector and will involve working on-site for 25 hours per week. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be tasked with handling full-cycle accounts payable duties, including account coding, banking reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee full-cycle accounts payable operations, including account coding and batching
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Accurately prepare and maintain financial records and reports
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to accounts payable
• Regularly monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when required
• Utilize Automated Clearing House (ACH) for efficient processing of transactions
• Enter and code invoices as per the company's financial policies and procedures
• Ensure all invoices are approved prior to processing for payment
• Use the Financial Edge software for efficient management of accounts payable operations
• Maintain and update accounting functions regularly to ensure financial transparency. Requirements
• Proficiency in account coding and accounting functions.
• Experience with accounts payable (AP) processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions.
• Capability to enter, code, and approve invoices accurately and timely.
• Experience in performing bank reconciliations.
• Proficient in using financial edge software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
