The Customer Experience Design Team (CXD) is looking for a Lead Product Designer to help shape how customers interact with our 20+ brands. As a lead member of the CXD team, you’ll enhance brand visibility, drive customer acquisition, and improve retention. We’re looking for a designer passionate about user-centered design, with a strong grasp of usability principles for web and mobile experiences.
In this hands-on role, you’ll lead with Product Managers and Engineers to identify key challenges and solve them creatively. Work with an award-winning team that drives innovation and delivers impactful designs.
Essential duties and Responsibilities –

Lead with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to identify customer problems and opportunities to improving the customer experience across IHG’s digital channels

Lead with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on product vision, technical constraints, and business needs.

Partner with our Research team to identify research opportunities to deepen your understanding of customer needs, behaviors and pain points and translate insights into design solutions

Leverage analytics, A/B testing, and other performance data to guide design decisions and measure their impact on business outcomes

Guide the design process from initial sketching and wireframing to fully prototyped solutions that help communicate design ideas and iterations

Develop interaction flows taking into account the full customer journey and experience across, mobile, web or other digital platforms

Create detailed handoff files for final designs, applying our design system to ensure consistency across the digital ecosystem

Work closely with engineers during the build process to test inflight work and provide feedback to ensure design requirements are met

Lead efforts for continuous evolvement of our Design Language System and redefine patterns when necessary

Present design ideas and solutions to partners, stakeholders and leadership ensuring clear communication of design rationale and its impact on business goals

Contribute to product roadmaps and ensure design initiatives align with long-term business and customer objectives

Lead design reviews and critiques, offering constructive feedback to maintain high design quality

Facilitate cross-functional workshops, bringing together design, product and engineering teams to identify problems, generate solutions and align on key strategies

Mentor junior designers to help them grow and improve their skills
-
Support leadership in refining the design process and approach
What We Need From You:
Education -
Bachelor’s degree required in design-related discipline: User centered design or Interface design.
Experience -
-
10-12 years of progressive work related experience, ideally hotel/travel industry a plus.

Typically 2-5 years experience in e-commerce user related design.
Technical skills and Knowledge -

Demonstrated expertise Figma
-
A robust portfolio showcasing your understanding of design principles.

Experience leveraging successful strategies for organizational planning and approaches to strengthen team capacity

Strong experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering to meet deadlines and deliver quality products

In-depth knowledge of human-centered design practices, research methodologies, and design tools
-
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Demonstrated ability to present and defend design concepts
-
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects or activities in a dynamic environment.

Basic knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks.

Expertise in responsive and mobile-first design principles.

Expertise in Agile methods and Design Thinking.

Effective collaborative sessions with partners and leadership

The salary range for this role is $58,834.00 to $133,000.00. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we , in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future . An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
**This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
