Job Description

This role is based out of our New York Office.
In this role, we are looking for a savvy communications professional to support two key consumer comms work streams as part of our global consumer communications team.
This person will support communications for LinkedIn News, our editorial team of 225+ journalists, with a focus on magazine-style LinkedIn Lists (e.g. Top Companies, Top Startups, Jobs on the Rise). This person will be responsible for the comms strategy and execution of LinkedIn Lists, breaking news on LinkedIn and editorial storytelling that reinforces LinkedIn as a destination for news and insights to help professionals grow in their careers.
Additionally, this person will support LinkedIn’s Inclusive Communications work that includes leading day to day engagement with two LinkedIn Career Experts who speak to professionals from the Black, Hispanic and LBGTQ+ communities. This includes always on media relations and owned storytelling to these audiences. This leader will engage with LinkedIn data experts, economists and product teams to tell culturally relevant stories to professionals from multicultural group across broadcast, digital and traditional media. With the support of PR agencies and consultants, we want a curious and creative idea generator with a desire to build and maintain relationships with press and producers in multicultural and national media.
This is an exciting role for someone passionate about consumer communications work with an interest in culture and workplace trends. This person will be involved in all stages of the consumer communications initiatives -- from concept formulation, cross-functional planning, message development, media relations, execution and results-oriented reporting. Must be a good collaborator and exhibit a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the day-to-day communications lead for LinkedIn Lists and Inclusion 365 (LinkedIn’s URG/multicultural communications program).
- Oversee the strategy, planning, and execution for the LinkedIn List program (e.g., Top Companies, Top Startups, Jobs on the Rise).
- Synthesize editorial trends and LinkedIn data to identify news hooks and develop media materials.
- Act as a liaison for senior stakeholder management and global coordination for key programs.
- Deliver top-tier press results about news trending on key LinkedIn and multicultural programs.
- Manage and support in-person and virtual media interviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with key publishers and members of the media.
- Assist and direct the consumer communications agency in execution.
- Serve as a core member of the Inclusive communications virtual team.
- Create proactive and reactive content, including messaging, newsletters, and Q&As for announcements, partnerships, events, and profiles.
- Provide strategic communications counsel to internal and external partners.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 6+ years’ experience in external communications – with a focus on media relations and writing
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A passion for pop culture, workplace trends, and topics relevant to inclusion and multicultural comms work.
- Experience with editorial/news or consumer communications work.
- Experience telling inclusion communications stories and building cultural moment programs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured, and deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with an aptitude for data-driven consumer and editorial storytelling, and the ability to monitor and analyze industry trends.
- Well-developed media relationships and the ability to grow new ones.
- High degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality.
- Ability to demonstrate maturity and good judgment at all times.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once.
- Strong project management and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to travel if necessary.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and hybrid environment.
- Expertise in MSFT Office and Google Docs.
- Basic social media skills to drive on-platform performance and an openness to learn.
- Candidates will be required to reside in the New York City area.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $94,000 to $147,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
