SALES DIRECTOR
ILY2 is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Director who is knowledgable about the contemporary art world, and wants to be part of our fast growing gallery! This is a full-time salaried position, five days/32-40 hrs per week - with flex-scheduling for remote/off-site workers. Travel - to Portland and to national/international art fairs is required.
ILY2 works with a multi-generational group of emerging, mid-career, and underrepresented artists in a program with a feminist focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, consultants, curators, and others
- Have an in-depth understanding of each artist’s individual practice and biography
- Research, monitor, and secure primary and secondary market sales opportunities.
- Oversee all online platforms
- Analyze data from Digital Marketing team and create sales initiatives
- Articulate and communicate artists’ ideas and intentions effectively to clients
- Assemble offer PDFs
- Communicate consistently and proactively with gallery Senior Director to review offers and sales
- Meet quarterly sales goals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Art Business, Art Administration, or a related field required
- At least three (3) years of professional sales experience in a contemporary art gallery or auction house required; five (5) years of experience preferred
- Exceptional skills in communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, trustworthy, and responsible
- Able to work successfully and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Advanced skills in a Mac-based environment required, including: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop)
- Extensive knowledge of databases such as FileMaker and ArtLogic
- Proficiency with Social Media platforms
- Fluent in English; Excellent writing and communication skills
- Travel is required - to the gallery in Portland, and art fairs internationally
