Global Digital News and Streaming

Job Purpose
The Product Marketing Manager is embedded in the Pro responsible for communicating internally for, fostering understanding of, and driving adoption of our ongoing product releases.
Overall Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Product Communication Strategy & Delivery: Develop and execute a comprehensive product communication strategy to effectively convey the features, benefits, and value proposition of our digital products to internal stakeholders, including editorial, sales, comms, and leadership teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, developers, and other cross-functional teams to understand product roadmaps, features, and updates, and translate technical details into clear and compelling story messaging for internal stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding digital product updates, enhancements, and launches. Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and workshops to educate and align stakeholders on product strategy and objectives to drive understanding and adoption of our product throughout the organization.
- Be the “outreach person” to connect Product work to the rest of the organization.
General
Specific Tasks:
- Create materials to communicate and educate on the product, with materials targeted to different departmental needs Create & manage forums (events, emails, Slack, etc) for Product strategy communication Develop our product marketing voice and write/own the copy for things like app store listing release notes or product-related customer service
- Create case studies on overall product strategy
- Create and own the system to document, organize and share Product output documentation such as sprint release notes, roadmaps, ad offerings, and prototypes
- Actively look for ways to fix miscommunication or confusion around the product offering
Collaboration With Product
- Organize and widely share product release notes across various departments, upgrading them in a way that they become a package including relevant visuals and relating them to business goals
- Highlight product accomplishments to keep them visible
- Run the weekly product drop-in (or come up with a better alternative!) to create a forum where Product work is open and transparent
Collaboration With Sales
- Working with the Sales Product Marketing, provide product mockups and information that allows Sales teams to accurately communicate the sales offerings in their materials
- Keep Sales informed of the updates to ad product and ad product roadmap Collaboration with Ad Product: Working with Ad Product & Ad Tech, provide input into clear documentation of ad product offerings in product roadmap

Collaboration With Design
- Manage the concept prototype assets to keep materials current and relevant
- Spearhead development of new communication prototypes as needed
- Help create design case studies

- Help develop written & visual materials for internal and external comms about Product work
Collaboration with Brand & Marketing
- Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across all internal communications related to digital products
- Closely align with planned brand and marketing campaigns to make sure those campaigns have the most updated information about product features and materials
Knowledge
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
- Strong understanding of digital products, product life cycles, and the role of product marketing within a media or digital content environment.
- In-depth knowledge of product communication strategies and how they can foster adoption and engagement across internal teams.
- Familiarity with cross-functional team dynamics, particularly with editorial, sales, design, and technical teams.
- Understanding of advertising product offerings, particularly within digital news or streaming environments, and the ability to articulate their value proposition.
- Knowledge of branding principles and how they align with product features and marketing campaigns.

- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex product details into clear, compelling messaging for different audiences.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective delivery of product communication materials.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate across departments, including Product, Sales, Design, Ad Tech, and Comms, fostering teamwork and ensuring alignment on product objectives.
- Creative Thinking: Ability to develop creative solutions for communicating product features and updates, as well as addressing miscommunication or confusion within the organization.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience leading meetings, workshops, and forums to engage internal stakeholders.
- Documentation: Proficiency in creating and managing product documentation such as roadmaps, release notes, ad offerings, and prototypes, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Technical Fluency: Ability to understand and communicate technical product details, features, and updates to non-technical audiences.
Experience
- Proven experience in product marketing, product communications, or a related role within a digital product, technology, or media company.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing internal communication strategies for digital product launches and updates.
- Experience working in a cross-functional capacity, collaborating with product managers, designers, developers, and sales teams to ensure successful product communication and alignment.
- Experience creating and managing communication materials such as case studies, release notes, and product documentation that educate and engage stakeholders across different departments.
- Familiarity with internal communication platforms such as Slack, email, or project management tools to maintain effective communication forums.
- Experience working with or within sales teams to support the development of product-related sales materials, mockups, and ad product roadmaps.
- Proven ability to align product messaging with overall brand and marketing strategies to maintain consistency across internal and external communications.
Compensation
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is to $85,000- $95,000. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.This range is not inclusive of a competitive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule & benefits including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match.
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
