Position Overview:
We are seeking a visionary Director of Marketing to lead our marketing operations in the dynamic market of the United States. Located in our showroom at Bryant Park in New York City with regular visits to our US headquarters in Green Island, (Albany) NY. This role presents a unique opportunity to blend the execution of global marketing strategies with localized brand activations the latter especially in the field of PR, creating an unmatched brand desirability among both the optical trade and end consumers. As a custodian of the Silhouette brand, you will drive our mission to position Silhouette as the benchmark in premium eyewear, leveraging your expertise to captivate and engage our audience through innovative, strategic marketing endeavors.
The concrete tasks include designing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan for the US market in close collaboration with headquarters and overseeing its execution together with the marketing team as well as sales. The implementation includes the deployment of POS fixtures as well as activations for our trade partners to support the product launches. The marketing plan further includes PR programs and events to elevate brand desirability and raise image and awareness in the US market.
Key Responsibilities:
Dialogue and Exchange Catalyst: Serve as a vital link between the US market and our Austrian headquarters, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas, insights, and strategies that elevate our global marketing initiatives.
Brand Activation: Craft and implement compelling brand activations that engage both the optical trade and consumers, elevating the brand's presence and desirability in the US market.
Collaborative Excellence: Work closely with the global marketing team and US Sales Organization to ensure cohesive brand messaging and strategy implementation, fostering a seamless synergy between global initiatives and local market nuances.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the US eyewear industry, adapting strategies to meet evolving market demands.
Team Development: Mentor and engage marketing team to high-performance, fostering an environment of creativity, innovation, business acumen and professional growth.
Analytical Market Synthesizer: Utilize deep market analysis to capture and communicate the evolving eyewear tastes and opportunities within the US while providing input on the global product portfolio and if necessary, adapting it to the US necessities.
Budget: Lead US marketing budget process, annual plan and implementation of key initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, with a significant focus on brand management and development in the luxury or premium product sectors.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and PR strategies and campaigns, ideally within the eyewear or accessory industries.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation.
- Strong analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with a range of stakeholders, from team members to global partners.
- Deep understanding of the US market dynamics, consumer behaviors, and trends within the premium eyewear or luxury goods sectors.
- Experience working with global organizations with headquarters outside the US, implementing global brand assets into the US market while creating PR strategies to drive brand desirability and brand awareness at US level.
- Experience leading, managing and implementing annual budget and process
- Product and digital marketing and ecommerce experience are advantageous.

Physical Requirements: Individual will need to sit and stand as necessary. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Must be available for Domestic and International travel as requested, approximately 50% of the time.
