Position: Senior Accountant

PURPOSE:

The Senior Accountant will report to the Vice President of Finance & Accounting and will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and reconciling financial reports, records, various accounts and general ledgers within the Company. This is a collaborative role that will work cross-functionally with various departments as we expand our capabilities in general accounting, compliance, and analysis. DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:

Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and other aspects of the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
Participate in period-end financial statement review meetings and provide variance analysis.
Assist restaurant management teams with account analysis and other ad-hoc requests.
Perform day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions.
Verify recurring invoices for utilities, supplies, and services for restaurants and departments are properly recorded.
Receiving/reviewing invoices and supporting documentation for appropriate approvals and general ledger coding.
Managing and reconciling vendor invoice statements.
Record weekly payroll transactions and reconcile payment activity to corresponding bank accounts.
Assist with monthly sales and use tax calculations and filings.
Reconcile chargebacks and follow-up with merchants.
Maintain and improve fixed asset scheduled and related depreciation calculations.
Manage corporate expense report process and perform Concur maintenance as needed.
Work effectively and alongside third-party service providers (i.e., consultants, auditors, tax accountants).
Develop and maintain process documentation related to areas of coverage.
Perform ad-hoc projects, tasks and analysis as assigned by Controller, VP of Finance & Accounting, or management team.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a restaurant or multi-unit company.

• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with general ledger, financial close process, and account reconciliations

• Sales & use tax experience, a plus

• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Proficient in Microsoft Excel formulas and functionality

• Oracle Cloud or similar accounting systems experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages, and other items, to walk short distances, and have the ability to sit and stand for periods of time.

In person, 5 days a week.
