Matthew Marks Gallery is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of six properties. The successful candidate will be highly organized, hands-on, and experienced in managing complex projects for both commercial and residential buildings.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Identify building issues and implement repairs
Ensure the cleanliness and integrity of the facilities
Manage capital improvements and renovations; obtain DOB and NYC permits when required
Maintain building systems, including electrical, lighting, plumbing, elevators and HVAC repair
Oversee outside vendors; obtain proposals, review contracts, secure insurance certificates, and approve invoices
Open/close buildings outside of business hours to provide access for repairs, inspections, cleaning, deliveries, and maintenance
Rent and procure equipment and materials as needed
Collaborate with staff to plan and execute the buildout and renovation of gallery spaces for exhibitions
Maintain operational storage in each location, collaborating with staff to prioritize materials, tools and equipment necessary to be onsite
Restock cleaning and porter supplies, maintain storage closets
Schedule window and facade cleaning
Oversee trash removal
Responsible for periodic building maintenance services, including pest control, snow removal, landscaping, fire extinguisher inspections, and graffiti removal
Facilitate inspections with NYC, insurance, and other regulators
Uphold building safety and regulatory compliance
Respond to and manage emergency situations

Key Skills/Experience

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Understanding of NYC building standards and codes
Experience with construction and renovations
Some knowledge of engineering and architecture preferred
Team player, active problem solver, able to work in a dynamic environment with high level of accountability
Knowledge of security procedures
Ability to document and maintain logs
Valid driver’s license
